Vintage English Bed and an Upcoming Mad Tea Party

What a wet rainy month it has been so far down here in Texas.  Last year at this time, we were dry as a desert all summer!  Now the faucet just won't turn off.

On the plus side, it does keep the heat in check some :)  With all of the rain and humid heat when it's not raining, there just haven't been very many yard sales to visit.

So I started going through the pile of junk in my garage.  Just look at this mess!

Anyhoo, here are a couple of the smaller projects that I have been working on (by small, I mean I can work on them in the house).  I am avoiding the heat at all costs!

I also did one big project, a vintage English bed.

BEFORE:

The bed was missing 5 of these little corner pieces, so I had to make a mold and create the replacements from scratch.  After it was painted, you couldn't even tell the difference.

Here is one of my molded pieces.

and AFTER:

It is a beautiful light turquoise blue (Sparkling Lake by Valspar).

This is the back of the headboard.  Once it was all finished, I just didn't like the look with an unfinished back and decided to paint it.  The back is actually just as pretty as the front.  Too bad they don't make furniture like this anymore!

Check out the cool side rails and how they slide into place.  This is one sturdy bed!  Look at the awesome original casters too...I am just in love with this bed!

Manufactured by the CWS Cabinet Company in England.

One last note, we will be participating with A Fanciful Twist for Vanessa's annual Mad Tea Party.  Stop by on July 28th for a virtual visit :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Deanna
