Sassy Little Table and Chairs

This little set is composed of all rescued pieces.  Took forever to collect it all, but once I found the table I knew that the chairs would eventually turn up!  I just love how it turned out :)

Of course, I was so excited about painting it all that I forgot to take before pictures.  Anyway, first I painted each of the chairs in a bright Valspar Spring color from Lowes.  Those little sample sizes are the perfect size to paint one chair and have a bit left over.

Next, I painted the table white and then painted stripes of each color down the center.

and stenciled a lace pattern in white over the stripes.  I used a lace curtain panel that I bought at a church thrift store for $1.00.

I sealed everything with poly-acrylic for durability, and wah-lah ~ a bright and cheerful game/craft table for the game room!

I also found a vintage Lazy Susan at the thrift store that I painted to match the set, green on top and pink underneath.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Projects

I have been so crazy busy for the past couple of weeks, but now we are on vacation at Disney World.  I figure now is a great time to update the blog while hubby has the kids at Magic Kingdom.  All of the rich food has me laid up a bit today, so I am chilling in the quiet hotel room.  Here are some of the things I have been working on while neglecting my blog :)

I found this sad little chair at the same estate sale that I got the pink dresser from the last post.  I had seen much better days.

I also finished this new dresser.  I wanted to paint it a blue-gray, but hubby just knew it would be lovely in pink...I think he was right!

I filled in the carvings with wood putty and sanded them smooth.

Leaving you with some fun pictures from Disney World!

Colorful Mickeys were so pretty all piled together!

The kids at the Grand Floridian ~ gotta love the vintage Cadillac!

These balloons were everywhere!  Rather than pay mucho dollars for one and have it deflate, I decided to take a picture that would last forever (and I got more than one!)

I just love Cinderella's Castle and the rose garden, and you can see how crowded it is this week :)

Hugs!
