Vintage Mirror to Chalkboard

We bought a beautiful vintage dresser (well it wasn't so beautiful when we brought it home) with matching mirror at a garage sale a few weeks ago.

The mirror was incredibly foggy and definitely would not be able to be used with the dresser.

We finished the dresser in gray with a distressed finish.

The detailing is so pretty, and I love the little legs!

For the mirror, I removed the backing and the mirror from the frame.

Next, I painted and sealed the frame.  My sweet hubby cut a piece of wooden board the same size as the mirror, and I painted it with chalkboard paint.

I turned out so cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Quick Before and After

I adore those vintage kitchen utility stools.  A friend of mine was cleaning out  her uncle's house and was going to throw this little beauty away.  Of course, I had to take it and see if it was salvageable!

It actually took very little time to prep it for painting.  I had to pull off the rubber step pads because they were pretty crispy.  I cleaned up the rest of this little jewel and primed it, then began spray painting.  I used a peacock blue by Valspar.  I love the roughed up look, so I started sanding and got a wonderful surprise!  Some of the yellow started to show through :)

Here is the final product...

This one is a keeper!
